WHAT IS KNEE ARTHRITIS?
Arthritis is a degenerative disease that inflames your joint’s bones and wears away the cartilage in the knee joint. Your knee, the largest joint in your body, is particularly susceptible to arthritis because it bears the majority of your lower body’s weight while standing.
As knee arthritis begins to develop, your knee bone and cartilage become irritated and inflamed. Ignoring the early stages of knee arthritis may make treatment more difficult later on. It is recommended you make an appointment with a Back In Motion specialist at the first sign of symptoms. This is important because, in its moderate to severe stages, knee arthritis can cause painful, sometimes debilitating, bone-on-bone rubbing.
